How to cook a beef roast. Here I am using a porterhouse roast. You will also need salt and some Thyme.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees C fan forced. In an oven safe pan, heat on a high heat and add the roast fat side down. We want to render this fat down so leave it for a few minutes. When its golden, turn and brown all sides. You want a nice sear all over, this will add a lot of flavour to your roast. Then place into the oven and bake for about 30 to 35 minutes or till a meat thermometer is showing 60 degrees – this is between medium rare and medium. Just google meat temperature to find a chart on meat doneness. Thats about it. Allow to rest for 10 minutes or so and then serve.
